AVATA Home Services
The calm first call after roof trouble in New Mexico
Request your visit

Does calling your insurance company about a leak count as a claim?

It's not that making a call to your insurance company puts a claim on your record. It is that nobody told you asking isn't claiming in New Mexico — when nothing is paid and the damage isn't covered, an insurer can't count that inquiry as a claim — and the clock that can actually cost you is the reporting deadline written in your own policy.

Roof repair, storm damage, and replacement across Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Los Lunas, Belen, and the East Mountains. AVATA Home Services books a real visit with a local pro — and the job is quoted at the visit, after the roof is seen in person.

1.What does AVATA actually do?

How it works, in about a minute

A short film that walks through the same steps written out on this page — you ask, a pro is lined up, the visit is booked, the quote is given at the visit, and the photos and findings are yours to keep — with captions.

The two voices are computer voices. Captions are on the film.

Check the papers — yours to run, too

The program's rules require a pro to prove a current New Mexico license before a job goes to them. You can run the same check yourself, on the state's own license lookup, in about a minute: search the exact legal business name or license number, and confirm the license is active and that it covers the work.

The lookup is run by the New Mexico Construction Industries Division: Santa Fe (505) 476-4700 · Albuquerque (505) 222-9800.

When AVATA calls to book the visit, you get the pro's name and license number before you agree to anything — run it on the state lookup first, then decide.

AVATA is the coordinator, not your contractor

AVATA books the visit and keeps the record. The work is done by the independent local pro matched to your job, and the contract for the work is with them.

New here — and honest about it

This coordination program is new, and we'd rather tell you that plainly than dress the page up. The one roofing-work photo on this page is a stock photo. The bucket picture up top is a frame from the short film on this page, and the map further down is a designed drawing. None of them is a picture of an AVATA job. As local jobs are completed and customers give permission, real job photos and real reviews will be posted here. Never invented reviews.

2.Which one are you?

This page is for homeowners in the six communities above. Renting? Your landlord is usually the right person to book — the form will tell you the same thing, kindly.

Request your free estimate visit

Five questions, the same ones we'll ask everyone, no surprises later. If the project is a fit, we'll book a specific appointment time and confirm it back to you with a Lead ID.

1.What's going on with your roof?

2.What's the ZIP code?

3.Is it your home?

About the home *

4.How do we reach you?

5.When do you want it looked at?

Optional — a few extras that help us book faster

We never quote a price — the pro does that at the visit. This just checks the job is real-sized.

Your request goes to AVATA Home Services and the one pro matched to your job, so they can call back and do the work. We don't sell your information to data brokers or unrelated marketers.

The calls and texts come from Swava, the service that runs AVATA's bookings — that's the name the consent above names.

Request received — here's what happens next.

A real person reviews every request. If the project is a fit, we'll contact you to set a specific appointment time and confirm it back to you with a Lead ID (format: SWV-0000 — your ID is assigned when your request is entered in our book).

3.What can be lined up for you?

Storm damage, a roof inspection, a repair, or a full roof replacement. The visit comes first, whatever the job.

Roof leak repair

Find the source, not just the stain.

Storm and wind damage assessment and repair

What to fix now, and what it means for the roof.

Full roof replacement (shingle, tile, metal, and flat-roof systems)

The visit comes first: the number comes from the roof, not a phone guess.

Roof inspections with written documentation for insurance claims

Photos and written findings from the inspection, yours to keep whether you file or not.

Tear-off and re-roof, including decking repair found along the way

The old roof comes off first, so what is underneath gets seen, not guessed at.

What we don't do: we don't quote a price online or over the phone, and AVATA doesn't do the roofing itself. AVATA is the coordinator — the work is done by local pros, and the job is quoted at the visit, after the roof has been seen in person.

Service photos: stock photos of roofing work, not AVATA jobs.

4.Roofing here isn't roofing anywhere else

Albuquerque: a mile of altitude means the sun works on roofs here all year — UV and the big day-to-night temperature swings age shingles and flat-roof coatings faster than in milder cities. Flat and low-slope roofs are common here (pueblo-style homes with parapets and canales), and they fail differently: ponding water and cracked coating, not missing shingles. The year's two damage seasons are the spring winds and the monsoon (mid-June to September). Pre-1978 homes also trigger federal lead-paint rules when painted surfaces like eaves, fascia, and soffits are disturbed in the work, which is why we ask the year built.

Rio Rancho: most housing is newer — 1990s and later subdivisions on the open west mesa, pitched shingle roofs with full wind exposure. Wind-lifted and creased shingles are the local pattern, and the damage often hides until the next monsoon rain finds it.

We serve all of these communities as one service area — the pros come to you; we don't claim an office in any of them.

Put your ZIP in the form above — if it is outside the test area, the form tells you plainly.

Questions homeowners ask us

What will this cost?

Nobody honest can price a roof without getting on it. What drives the cost: the size of the roof, how steep it is, how many old layers have to come off, the material you choose (shingle, tile, metal, or a flat-roof system), the condition of the decking underneath — which nobody can see until the old roof is off — permit requirements, and access. That's why the estimate visit exists — the roof is inspected in person, then it is quoted. There is no charge for the estimate visit itself.

How fast can someone come out?

Tell us it's urgent on the form — an active leak, especially with rain on the way, jumps the line, and we'll work to book the soonest appointment the pros have open. We won't promise you a time we can't keep; you'll get a real booked time, confirmed back to you.

Will insurance cover my roof damage?

Nobody can promise you that — coverage is your insurer's decision, and anyone who guarantees it before looking is guessing. What the visit gives you is documentation: at the appointment, the damage is documented, with photos and written findings from the inspection, yours to keep. Whether you file is your call; the documentation is yours either way.

Who will be in my home?

The pro matched to your job, and their crew. You'll know the date, the time window, and who is coming before anyone arrives.

What if I change my mind after signing something at my home?

For a sale of twenty-five dollars or more made at your home, federal law (the FTC Cooling-Off Rule) gives you until midnight of the third business day to cancel, and the seller must give you written notice of that right plus cancellation forms at signing. That right is yours — nobody from AVATA or the pro will talk you out of using it.

Is my information shared?

Your request goes to AVATA Home Services and the pro matched to your job, so they can contact you and do the work — plus the services that run the booking itself (form, phone, and messaging providers). We don't sell your information to data brokers or unrelated marketers. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
